Access and parking
A number of improvements to Penny Way are proposed as part of our redevelopment plans. While our Highways Consultant is working on the details of these, the need to include resurfacing, re-kerbing and new gullies is being considered.
A Transport Assessment will be submitted as part of the planning application, which will assess the impact of the proposals on the surrounding highway network and consider any further mitigation where necessary. Our initial estimate is that approximately 11 additional vehicular movements will occur during each of the typical AM and PM peak periods (08:00-09:00 and 17:00-18:00 respectively).
The layout has been developed to deliver parking provision for the homes and apartments which is in accordance with local parking standards defined by the highway authority. These will be composed of a mixture of garages and surface parking spaces, with potential for some car ports.
