The proposed development will:

  • Create a landmark new development for Steamer Point
  • Deliver much-needed new homes on a vacant, brownfield site
  • Rejuvenate a run-down site, which detracts from the local area
  • Create an attractive new development for Christchurch, which also respects the amenity of neighbouring properties
  • Retain a majority of the site’s trees and provide additional tree planting and landscaping, as well as ecological enhancements
  • Deliver highways improvements to Penny Way
  • Enable Pennyfarthing Homes to deliver a ‘bricks and mortar’ off-site affordable housing solution by building a policy-compliant number of affordable homes at a suitable, alternative site in the area
  • Provide significant financial contributions, via the Community Infrastructure Levy, towards local infrastructure, highways improvements and heathland mitigation
